This month’s walk is being organised by Andy and myself.
We will start at 11 am from Newgate Bank, parking either in the car park or the layby opposite on the left hand side of the B1257. Grid reference SE 56390 88994 – What 3 Words – musically.skis.bulge
The full route is 5.43 miles long with a fairly steep climb back up to the car park OR for those who would prefer to avoid the climb, you may wish to walk to the half way point, our coffee break location, a distance of 2.59 miles, and then retrace your steps back to the car park, making it a total distance of 5.18 miles. For those wishing to do the full circuit, the route continues down hill along the road then follows the contours of Newgate Bank, eventually climbing up to the car park.
Alternatively, for a shorter walk you could walk as far the trig point and then retrace your steps back to the car park, a total of 4.44 miles.
We are booked into The Feathers Hotel for Sunday lunch at 2.30 pm. Please advise whether you will be walking and/or eating. The menu is attached and I would appreciate your food choices no later than the 20th January.
Of course all of this depends on mother nature!!! Whatever the conditions, we will still be eating at the Feathers.
