The next village walk is programmed for Sunday 27th October starting at 1100 and is being organised by Jane and myself. We plan to revisit an old favourite – the Pockley Moor route. The hope is that the weather will be clear, the autumn colours will be around and the views will be splendid – I guess that some optimism won’t go amiss although a bit of luck would help!
The walk is about 5 miles, pretty much easy going along the moor top with a limited amount of mud, quiet lanes, tracks and no stiles. We will meet at grid ref 63.8 / 88.0. To get there drive in to Pockley, take the right hand turn as you leave the village on to Sandpit Lane, follow the road round and after half a mile at a right hand bend there is a minor lane ahead with plenty or verge parking. Go up the minor lane, pass Low Farm on the left and 100m or so after we will be waiting for you [there is a signed footpath on the right which we will be taking]. If you miss the lane you will quickly arrive at a T junction – Go Back!
We will be eating locally but we would appreciate an indication of numbers before we make the booking so expressions of interest please by Next Sunday (20 October) after which we will issue final details of our plan.
